How to Measure Your Goalkeeper Glove Size (with Size Chart)

Sizing is the single biggest reason keepers return gloves — and it's the easiest thing to get right. All you need is a tape measure or a piece of string and a ruler. It takes about a minute.

Step 1: Measure your hand

Measure around the widest part of your palm, just below the knuckles, without the thumb. Keep the tape snug but not tight. Note the measurement in centimetres.

If you're between measurements, round up — a fraction of room is better than a glove that's too tight.

Step 2: Convert to a glove size

As a rule of thumb, your palm width in centimetres is roughly your glove size. Use this chart to be sure:

Step 3: Decide how you like the fit

Most keepers leave about 0.5 cm of space at the fingertips. That gap protects the latex and lets the glove flex.

A few sizing mistakes to avoid

1. Measuring over another glove — measure your bare hand.
2. Buying way oversized "to last" — too much room kills grip and causes tears.
3. Ignoring the cut — a negative cut in your size feels tighter than a flat cut in the same size.
