Getting the size right

Should you size up for growth?

One size up is a sensible way to buy a bit of growing room without hurting performance. Any more than that and the gloves become hard to catch in — too much loose latex slips off the ball and tears at the fingertips. One size, no more.

What actually matters for juniors

• A secure wrist strap. A good wrap strap keeps the glove on and supports young wrists.
• Comfort over hype. A soft, flexible palm they'll actually wear beats a "pro" spec they won't.
• Durable latex. Juniors train on rough surfaces — a slightly harder-wearing palm lasts longer.
• Finger protection (optional). Spines add confidence for nervous keepers, but many young players prefer the freedom without them.
